"From 1990-2002, Vermont's small and medium-sized Exporters witnessed export growth of between 12-15% per year, the fastest export-growth experienced by any state during that time."

Despite this meteoric growth, Vermont's international business community remains fractured as their needs are lumped together with those of purely domestic-related organizations and businesses with more vocal constituencies. But no more.

Started in 2006 to address the modern needs of Vermont's international businesses, the International Trade Coalition of Vermont's mission is to develop a broad coalition of businesses, individuals and organizations who are committed to the development and growth of Vermont's international trade economy and international business environment. ITCV's objectives are to:

1) Raise the awareness of the importance and potential of international trade for Vermont companies

2) Expand Vermont's international trade through discussion and action

3) Become the primary source for Vermont infrastructure information and its effect on international trade growth and development.

In 2007, the International Trade Coalition of Vermont will be collecting data and analyzing:

1) Vermont's Energy Infrastructure and how it relates to global competitiveness

2) Vermont's Border Crossings

3) Vermont's Transportation Infrastructure

By collecting this information and analyzing it from an international trade competition perspective, ITCV will be able to propose policies for improvement of these key economic elements as well as successfully position Vermont for a greater role in the developing regional trade environment (see Critical Trade Corridors).
