Quebec - New England Trade Corridor
|
Quebec-New England Trade Corridor
In 2007, The Quebec-New England Trade Corridor exists only in theory. Hypothetically, the corridor would have two northern destinations, Montreal and Quebec City, respectively, and the southern terminus would be the Port of Boston, effectively linking the economies of Southern Quebec with those of Vermont, New Hampshire and Massachussetts.
Bi-lateral discussions have taken place between some of the various partners, but a full-scale regional effort toward implementation has yet to take place. The development and implementation of such a corridor continues to be a priority of EDCNV's International Trade program and its International Trade Coalition of Vermont (ITCV). Through the ITCV and its partners, we will be collecting statistical evidence relating to Vermont's reliance on a strong regional economy and the necessity for creating a vibrant, effective and efficient trade corridor.
