International trade is about a lot more than just shipping a product to a consumer in another country, it is about understanding the competitive forces of global business and how those forces impact a company's bottom line.

To succeed, a company must understand not only their own competitive advantages and those of their competitors, but they must also understand the competitive advantages of the region from which they are based.

The Economic Development Council of Northern Vermont is dedicated to making sure that Vermont's businesses are effectively positioned in a regional and global trading context. It is our goal to provide information on regional trade agreements and organizations that will benefit Vermont businesses as well as provide them with an appropriate forum to become active in the regionalization of trade that is rapidly occuring in New England and the Eastern Provinces of Canada.
