Creating prosperity for Northern Vermont communities.

Established in 1975, the Economic Development Council of Northern Vermont (EDCNV) is Vermont's only designated Economic Development Administration District covering the northern counties of Caledonia, Essex, Franklin, Grand Isle, Lamoille and Orleans.  Managed by a professional staff and directed by a volunteer Board of Directors, EDCNV has developed projects/programs in areas such as: financial lending, small business development and technical assistance, telecommunications, international trade, tourism, food diversification, job creation/retention, agriculture, commerce, industrial development, and workforce training.

Through its technical assistance programs, which include consultation, grant writing, business planning and feasibility analysis, it has assisted communities with infrastructure development, including industrial parks, multi-tenant facilities, public facilities improvements and hospitals.  An on-going activity is developing and implementing projects that create and/or retain jobs, as well as improving and strengthening the economy of the six-county District.

Since its inception, EDCNV has leveraged in excess of $75 million in the development and implementation of projects in the District counties.
